Rain, rain, go away come again another day, could have been our theme for this year's show. It rained just about every day since the first of June so on the Monday before the show I talked to the owner of the Perkiomenville Auction and Flea Market about the use of the Arena as a backup show site if it rained on Sat.

Sat. Morn arrived and with it a big decision, do I put the signs up to direct the people to come here or to the Arena? The decision was made for here and by 9Am the sun was breaking thru the clouds. By the time everyone was set up we had twenty-four dealers from four states and a few of those were first time dealers' here. The walk thru was steady all day with at least six states represented.

There were a lot of great insulators for sale and some brought just for show. Ward Lindstrom who hasn't set up for a few years brought some great pieces to sell among them a CD 143 Montreal Telegraph Co, in a very dark blue and a CD 145 H.G. Co. in a good blue with a wild milk band up and over the dome. One of the insulators that showed up but was not for sale was a bright yellow green CD 145 N.E.G.M. Co. which was found by 3 year old Maizie Rooth. She was with her dad, Randy at a local flea market and seeing nothing on the table to buy, dad was ready to move on. Maizie pulled on her dad's hand, and says "Daddy, Daddy" and points to a box under the table and there it was. Of course both dad and daughter were happy.

Some of the other great insulators that showed up were a mint Crown, which I was privileged to hold. It could be the only mint one I will ever hold. A mint U-2202 was sold and went home with Fred Collier. Fred also brought a few insulators to show, among them was a CD 133 H.G. Co. in Lime green and loaded with milky swirls and a killer CD 126 Brookfield in a YELLOW olive. A very dark teal blue CD 133 Brookfield was also brought to show. One of the new dealers brought a lot of porcelain, among them.... Some of the largest porcelain insulators I have ever seen.

All too soon it was time to pack up and go and take down the signs. Another good show with lots of good insulators. More than one person walked out with a big smile because of obtaining a new piece for their collection! (See Maize and her find on the address side of the Cover.)
